INDENT Privacy Policy

INDENT is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and application process, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this simple on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us at info@indent-pgh.org and we will give you a straight answer.

What we collect

Contact form. If you send us a message through the site, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write to us.

Applications. If you apply to the Emerging Filmmaker Program, we receive the materials you send to applications@indent-pgh.org. This typically includes your resume or CV, work samples or a reel, a personal narrative, and your contact information.

Site analytics. Our website is built on Squarespace, which uses cookies and collects basic analytics about site visits, such as pages viewed, browser type, and general location. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us. You can learn more in Squarespace's own privacy policy.

We do not collect payment information through this site, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

How we use your information

We use contact form messages to respond to you. We use application materials to evaluate candidates for the Emerging Filmmaker Program, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making selection decisions. We use analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who can see it

Application materials are reviewed by the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator, and members of the INDENT board who participate in the selection process. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

We use trusted service providers to operate, including Squarespace for website hosting and our email provider for communications. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of INDENT or others.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form messages as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of the conversation. We keep application materials from selected Emerging Filmmakers as part of their program record. Application materials from applicants who are not selected are retained for twelve (12) months and then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or to keep them on file for future cycles.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing cara@indent-pgh.org. We will honor these requests unless we are required to keep the information for legal or program record purposes. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

Children

Our website and programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
